Desires
Everybody have the attraction toward the worldly things. Their inner and outer sight remain surrounded by the worldly things whether he or she had a big house or new precious car or costly sarees or beauty care products whatever. And to get all these things one efforts through his whole life. The fulfillment of wish for a large house doesn’t end the other wishes, but he would like to buy new more costly things like cars, houses, sarees etc. Everyone runs for the glory. Today the life of man is suppressed under the pile of things.
In foreign countries, there is a craze for shopping from the malls. They buy few things, eat something and scroll round in the mall and spend their time. In the same way, there are also many big shopping malls in our cities. Previously, a person bought all the things only from one shop and return quickly. Now this is changed today. A person waste his four or five hours in the mall and buy all things that seems attractive and costly, without thinking of its necessity though he or she might already be having that things in bulk. And through this, there is a constant chase of man for collecting of material things. Behind this, there is a little ego of man. He will show his purchase to others. Purchasing is not a product of our need, but to show others our skill, money or to satisfy our ego of new purchase.
The condition of man encompassed with the material things is worth to notice. He has a large splendid bungalow, but he had no time to look around in his bungalow. He has lots of cars, but except one or two others cars are not used. So, he struggles to get everything, but after getting it, he can’t enjoy his life fully. This is a very big tragedy of human beings. Lord Buddha said, there is pain in desires, there is even fear in desires. So, the person who is free from desires is free from pain and fear.
